Eat Well, Be Well

San Marzano Market bridges the gap between our agriculturally diverse farms in the north state and consumers. Combined with our passion for nutritionally dense foods made fresh daily and an array of wonderful products procured by our team, we have set out to create a unique culinary experience located in downtown Redding!

Supporting Our Local Food Economy

At San Marzano Market, we believe that supporting our local food economy is one of the most impactful choices we can make. When you shop local, you're not just buying fresher, better-tasting food—you're also helping to strengthen our community. Every dollar spent with local farmers and producers helps create jobs, sustain small businesses, and keep money circulating close to home. It also means fewer food miles, which is better for the environment, and more transparency about where your food comes from. Together, we can build a stronger, healthier, and more connected local food system.

Michelle Cave

The Face Behind San Marzano Market

Michelle studied holistic nutrition at Bauman College in Berkeley from 1998 to 2000, earning her certification as a Nutrition Consultant and Educator. Her deep-rooted passion for nutrition and education naturally evolved into a love for the culinary arts, sparking a desire to craft delicious, nutrient-dense recipes using nature’s best preventative medicine—fresh, seasonal whole foods. This passion, combined with a commitment to community wellness, led to the creation of San Marzano Market in partnership with K2 Development. Together, they envisioned a unique, family friendly shopping experience that supports the local food economy and nourishes the community, while providing a European inspired neighborhood market.
